A delicious full bodied red from the parched slopes of the Languedoc where the coolest (and hottest) lizards in France bask in the sun between Syrah vines. Red berries, a touch of spice and supple tannins.
Orange Street Cabernet/Merlot 2005, South Africa
Deep ruby and dark red, soft and rounded flavours with individuality and good depth. Soft black cherry with a hint of plum and red berries. Balanced finnish with a hint of tannin.

This straw-coloured Pinot Grigio is rich and round with distinct floral notes on the nose. On the palate it shows honeyed, nutty flavours balanced by crisp, lemony acidity. A top-notch Pinot Grigio.

This wine is produced from one of the best villages in Sancerre. A typical pungent nose of gooseberry and fresh fruit, with clean well defined flavours that linger on the palate.
Saint-Aubin Ier Cru 2003 Murges des Dents de Chein Gerard Thomas £38.60
Little known neighbour of Chassagne Montrachet. This premier cru is deliciously full flavoured and rich from the wonderful 2002 vintage. Nutty and complex this wine is the equal to many of its more expensive neighbours.
Chablis Simmont-Febvre 2005/06 £27.90
Classical Chablis, from this highly respected producer(owned by Louis Latour). A little fuller than some Chablis, dry- medium bodied, fresh and flinty with citrus fruit. Clean and refreshing.

Brilliant straw yellow colour with a green tint. Very fine, fruity (apples, peaches), forward varietal aroma. Pronounced, clean, elegant, grapey flavour, light to medium-bodied with a fresh mouth-watering finish

Coriole Shiraz Sangiovese 2003/4, Australia £22.50
Lovely ruby red hues and a nose with liquorice, molasses and distinct sweet red cherry. Black cherry/berry show up on the front of the palate and then the wine gets dark and savoury with delicious chocolate and earthy flavours highlighted with cedar notes. A lovely, long, lingering finish.
Wild Rock Gravel Pit 2005, New Zealand £24.50
An unashamedly gutsy, earthly, crow-black blend of Merlot, Cabernet and Cabernet Franc with masses of minerally extract, dark, forthright fruit and extruded, clarety tannins. Fine stuff from the highly-flavoured Hawke’s Bay Gravel. Rich, warm and flavoured red.
Cotes de Beaune Village Louis Jadot 2005/6 £31.00
The Côte de Beaune Villages is a good intermediary between regional Burgundy and Crus wines. The Louis Jadot cuvee is mainly from Chorey les Beaune and Ladoix. Offering bright red berry fruits and cherries, the 1999 vintage is drinking superbly.
Fleurie 2006/7 Cuvee L'Ancienne £21.90
Extremely versatile red wine - will go with spicy dishes, like curry or with gamey meat dishes. Even goes well with plain grilled white fish Ripe red fruit flavours with hints of strawberry and morello cherries. Full and firm grip on finish.

A delicious modern Rioja with a deep colour and ripe plum and cherry fruit aromas. Richly flavoured and substantial with fruit dominant and a smoky, spicy dimension from six months in oak. Brilliant quality and exceptional value.
Montepulciano D’Abruzzo 2003 Conviviale £17.50
A deeply coloured and robust red with warm, spicy aromas and hints of plum and dried fruits.The palate is richly flavoured with dry, lightly smokey notes at the beginning followed by concentrated dark and red cherry fruit, coffee and bitter chocolate and a complex, savoury finish.
Rustenberg John X Merriman 2004/5, South Africa £28.90
Well rounded wine which will increase in complexity and character with bottle age as is customary of Rustenberg's red wines. Aromas of spice and red fruit balanced by fine, elegant tannins - a combination which is indicative of well managed vineyards and mature fruit.
Crozes Hermitage 2004/5 Cave Tain l' Hermitage £22.90
This wine has lovely aromatic, spicy fruit on the nose and in the mouth, reminiscent of raspberries, liquorice and pepper; medium bodied and rounded but quite soft, just a tad of dry grip to finish.
